10th Annual Benefit Concert for St. Joseph the Worker

2016 SJW Band

The concert was held on May 20th in Xavier College Preparatory's auditorium. We are grateful for Xavier’s continued hospitality in hosting this event and are proud that the concert was once again being presented by Arizona Public Service Company and sponsored by the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Arizona Coyotes, and the Phoenix Suns.
St. Joseph the Worker’s recently completed fiscal year was the most successful one in its almost 30-year history. St. Joseph the Worker (SJW) helped 3,423 homeless and low-income individuals secure quality, full-time work.  The average starting pay for these jobs was $9.76 per hour and 52% of the jobs offered benefits.  Many more individuals received services ranging from one-on-one job search assistance, job-readiness resources and referrals, as well as encouragement and support to pursue a self-sufficient lifestyle.  Volunteers dedicated thousands of hours of direct service to SJW’s employment program.
During the past nine years these concerts have raised more than $300,000 for SJW’s good work.   Because SJW does not accept government funding, every contribution goes a long way to support SJW’s mission of “transforming lives through employment.”
